Sunday 28th January 2024, In what turned out to be a splendid afternoon of competitive tennis, the Knowle Hill Tennis Club Ladies team celebrated a victory against Woking C. Battling it out, our formidable team comprising Cathy and Eva, Sue and Pam secured a 5-3 win.
Partnered with perfect weather, the showdown proved a delightful spectacle not merely due to our victory, but also because it displayed competitive tennis against players from a significantly larger club. The action-filled match was a testament to the capabilities of our team, which stepped up to the challenge.
Beyond their competitive spirit, our ladies showcased stellar sportsmanship and camaraderie. As a sign of this, one of the Woking players contributed to the lively atmosphere by providing timely updates regarding the Australian Men's final, which encapsulated our shared passion for the sport.
We were also delighted to receive compliments on our fairly recently resurfaced tennis courts. Thoroughly appreciated by our visitors, our courts hosted some excellent play.
Our ladies team already has sights set on their next fixture, which will take place at home versus Foxhills on Sunday 11th February.
